SAFEGUARDING

Balcombe CE Primary School considers safeguarding to be of paramount importance.

The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the health, safety and welfare of all children, young people, their families and staff.  This means that everything we do is designed to promote the safety and well-being of the children we work with, as well as that of children and young people in general.

We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and believe that safeguarding and good practice are best promoted by staff who, after thorough selection processes, are valued, trained, encouraged and appropriately managed and supported in the work they do.

On rare occasions we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare. We will ensure that our concerns are discussed with parents/carers first unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child’s welfare.

We ensure that we take safeguarding principles and practices into account when all our school policies are formulated and reviewed.
